Learning new Stuff
Welcome to the devblog
I really want to try and keep up with this for each project i work on and create. i think its really important to keep track of what i'm learning in this gamedev journey. not really sure what will become of all this, but i know i want it documented the best i can.
i have always loved to create, and have tried to in the pass to work in other game engines before, with most of my time spent in Game maker studio. i bought the racial injustice bundle here on itch.io and found this new engine called DragonRuby and that stared my journey in in the Ruby language which i must say i have been a fan of.
I have wanted to learn a program language to learn how to program and code., and so far i have to say that Ruby has been pretty simple to learn the basics to and using it in Dragonruby has been very enjoy able.
this game called Doge it was a lot of fun to learn how to code. its a project that took me about 18 hours total and i did not set a times, but it was Saturday night that i started spent a good amount of Sunday and Monday morning.
This game helped me to learn how to create a state in witch i was able to create a restart for a player to keep on playing the game (if they wish to) as well as the args.state function in the Dragonruby engine. Other things i have learned from this game was how to Jump to a height and then fall.
this is one of the most complete game i have made, it has a start middle and end point with the ability to reset plus i made this with out following any guides it was just my own time spent in the notepad and writing code.
well there is my first DevBlog,
I will make them more interesting in the future.
